Futures Studies is a knowledge based on practice and cannot be merely shaped by theoretic thoughts. Therefore we can not describe futures studies well until it has got practical. But now we can provide some of its propositions such as purposes and assumptions. It has also be considered that Islamic Futures Studies is subject to special and temporal conditions and requirements; a fact which is effective on its shaping process. Although some of common futures studies purposes and assumptions can also be applied in Islamic Futures Studies but surely there are some differences between them. This paper tries to present some of the purposes and assumptions of Islamic Futures Studies based on Islamic references (specially the Holy Quran). Islamic Futures Studies has some commonalities and differences with the known futures studies. However, we cannot provide accurate statements about Islamic Futures Studies nature unless it has got practical, but in order to direct and expedite the process of its realization, it is necessary to provide some of its dimensions in terms of purposes and assumptions.
