In today's competitive, fast-paced environment, large corporations increasingly turn to creating "corporate innovation ecosystems" to sustain and strengthen their innovation capabilities. This research aims to identify the structural and functional components of such ecosystems and conducts a comparative, qualitative study of 15 leading global companies (such as Google, Tesla, and Samsung), analyzing the data using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the structure of these ecosystems primarily consists of six key components: corporate venture capital (CVC), corporate innovation accelerators, research and development (R&D) centers, internal innovation management systems, open innovation platforms, and innovation laboratories. From a functional perspective, six main functions were identified: venture investment, startup acceleration, research and development, support for internal innovations, knowledge and technology exchange, and innovation challenges. The research results emphasize that success in this field requires a clear strategy and diversification of open innovation tools by large corporations to achieve higher productivity by fostering a culture of collaboration and learning. Finally, these findings can be useful for industry managers and technology policy-makers, aiding in the design of local corporate innovation ecosystems and enhancing the effective role of large companies in sectoral and national innovation. By employing this framework, companies can not only focus on their direct benefits but also act as key players in the broader innovation ecosystem.
