Abstract

To face with turbulent business environment, continuous changes in technology and organizational boundaries, and diverse customer demand, scholars based on the Resource-Based View (RBV) developed Dynamic Capabilities (DC) as an ability to create and sustain the firms' competitive advantage. We believe that understand the Micro-foundations of innovation capability (as one of the DC's) at framework of processes, structures and activities can be useful in analyzing how innovate companies and propose solutions for firms' innovation problems. Hence, this paper aims to identify Micro-foundations of innovation capability in selected pharmaceutical firms'. In this qualitative research, we develop a primary framework of Micro-foundations of innovation capability and study deeply five pharma firms based on multi case studies strategy. Result shows that four micro-foundations namely Innovation Intelligence. Decision Making, Combination and Governance.
