Abstract

Assessment of alternatives and selecting a suitable one is important issue in conceptual design process in the development process of complex new products especially military products. In this paper, a multi-objective model with three objectives functions, includes risk, effectiveness and cost, is proposed. The model helps the decision-makers to select suitable alternative with the most effectiveness level based on their risk-taking capacity and the specified budget. Key feature of the proposed model is taking into account the risks associated with continuous design variables as well as their mutual effects on one another. These features have anabled the model to analyze all designing risks and also caused increased accuracy in risk measure calculation. Finally, this model is capable of integrating the cost effects of risks in cost function that leads to improve the cost calculation process.
