Introducing Framework of Organizations Readiness in Tele-Working Implementation: Mixed Method Approach

Abstract
Application and implementation of tele-working initiatives have been viewed as socio-technical challenge which affects on strategic and operational level of organizations. While many of virtual initiatives have failed due to lack of comprehensive view of effecting factors on implementation; consequently the employees of these failed initiatives have return to traditional offices. In order to avoid emerging problems, the readiness of organization for running tele-working must be evaluated before implementing them. Therefore, the aim of this survey is investigated factors affected organimtional readiness on successful implementation of virtual workspace. Identifying these factors helps organizations to establish virtual workspace effectively and adapt them to these circumstances. The approach of this paper is qualify method and them analysis was used for analysis 15 interviews which conducted with managers and employee of governmental organizations and experts of tele-working. The results of this survey shows employee characteristics, supervisors and managers characteristics, technical factors, job features, environmental factors, strategic alignment of tele-working program with mission and organizational culture have effect on organizational readiness in tele-working initiatives. Then by surveying experts opinions, the weights related to dimentions of framework were calculated.
