The Study of Inner Conflict Variables as Managers and Employee’s Psychological Health Index and Its Role in the Choice of Conflict Management Styles

Abstract

By increasing interdependence and interactions between institutions and its different departments, beside opportunities, false communications, misunderstanding, misconception, and reduced productivity will be predisposed. Diversity in the conflict management styles leads to variety of approaches and solutions, and it would also provide in potential both increase and decrease for conflict. The main objective of this study is to identify variables creating inner conflict as the managers and employee’s psychological health index and its relation with conflict management styles.
The sample in this study consists of employees and managers of organizations who were selected by the cluster-random sampling method. The studied population was 174 individuals. Data is analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test, Friedman test and multivariable regression. The results indicated that the priority of conflict management styles of employees and managers was collaboration. The inner conflict consisting factors, mismatching of employee’s job expectance and their attitude and believes was recognized as the most important ones. Also there was a significant relationship between inner conflict and dominant style. It means when inner conflict increases, people choose dominant style of management rather than other ones.
