Technology Assessment Framework of Social Network Games

Abstract

Industry of video games, especially social network ones, has become one of the main parts of creative industries. Development of knowledge based businesses, different technology platforms, rapid technology growth rate and social impacts of these games have made technology assessment of social network games necessary. This article tries to address the questions of "what factors are crucial for technology assessment in this field?" and "what is their priority?" accurately. Twenty three indicators were identified by literature review and exploratory interviews and they were classified into five components. After defining these indicators, we developed a questionnaire with nine items. These questionnaires were distributed among thirty three experts of this field. The collected data have been analyzed with Fuzzy Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and more important indicators were prioritized. The findings imply that components of business development, users and social interactions and infrastructural specifications are the most important components, respectively.
