The Role of Business Strategy on the Relationship between Human Resource Management Practices and Organizational Performance (Case Study in Food Industry Companies in Guilan Province)

Abstract

Organizations with effective management of human resources develop the kind of behavior that is essential for the success of their business strategy. HRM practices contribute to the development of human resources in order to affect directly the attitudes and behaviors of employees, thus the implementation business strategy will be facilitated and organizational goals will be achieved. One of the tools for mesuring success in achieving the goals of the organization is the organizational performance and most organizations attach great importance to human resource management functions in the formation of business strategy. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between HRM functions, business strategy and organizational performance and to test four hypotheses. The population of this study is managers and experts in food industry companies in Guilan. The analysis was performed by Lisrel software to assess structural equations model and SPSS software in order to evaluate regression analysis. The results indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between research variables and business strategy which has a mediating role on the relationship between human resource management practices and firm performance.
