Abstract

The aim of this research has been to assess factors affecting the outcomes of university-industry cooperations in 4 advanced technology areas of nanotechnology, biotechnology, aerospace and information technology. By reviewing the literature and global experience, a preliminary model was developed and used to analyse the university-industry cooperative projects. Factors affecting the outcomes of technological cooperations were categorised in four categories, namely individual, organizational, institutional and interactive factors. The model was confirmed using interviews with 20 experts the field of science and technology policy and then used to do a survey with the participation of 279 researchers working on cooperative projects as respondants. Finally, confirmative factor analysis and path analysis were done.
