The Impact of Organizational Commitment on Performance of Industrial Firms Based on Meyer et al. (Case Study of Industrial Complexes in Mazandaran)

Abstract

Today focuses on organizational commitment as a strategy for increasing the performance of organizations, has been identified. Organizational commitment is the attitude about the loyalty of employees toward organizations and also is an ongoing process through which the organization’s members show their interest toward the continuous improvement of organization. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of organizational commitment on performance of industrial firms. In this study, a sample of 86 top executives and managers of industrial firms in the province were assessed by using of questionnaires. In this regard, a model to demonstrate the impact of organizational commitment on the performance of industrial firms has been designed and was tested by the using LISREL software. Based on the results of the analysis of questionnaire data, it was found that, among the dimensions of organizational commitment, effective and normative commitments are effective on financial and non-financial performance of industrial firms, and the ongoing commitment dose not affect on performance. In this model, the indicators show the suitability of the model.
