Abstract

Technical and human aspects of Information Technology (IT) must be considered while adopting this technology in organization. Many organizations try to work on IT human capital before investing and preparing the technical infrastructure of IT, since it’s the workforce that will use it.
This paper investigates the relationship between “jobholder specifications” and “IT usage” in one hand and “job specifications” and “IT usage” in the other hand in a research and educational center.
Independent variables are “Jobholder specifications” and “job specifications” and “IT usage” is as the dependent variable. The qualitative and quantitative case study was applied as the research method to conduct this research.
Result show that there’s a relationship between “job specifications’ measures” and “IT usage”. While “job importance” has the strongest relationship with “IT usage”, “job diversity” shows the weakest relationship. Also, results show that “age of job holders” has a negative relationship with “IT usage”.
