Promotion of Organizational Culture: Application of Iranian Business Excellence Model

Abstract

Promotion of organizational culture in higher education institutions is a very important issue and at the same time, the proper planning and management required to achieve it. Nowadays, it is proved that enhancement of organizational culture has a direct impact on the quality of educational services. The purpose of this research is the analyzing of cultural dimensions of organization using business excellence in Taft Branch of Islamic Azad University. In order to collect data we use a questionnaire that measures dimensions of organizational culture in 10 dimensions and 45 components. For analyzing data we use Shannon entropy and TOPSIS methods. Shannon entropy has been used for answering to research questions and TOPSIS method used for ranking the dimensions of organizational culture. However, the results showed that the identity and individual initiative have proper conditions but some of dimensions don't have good situations. Also in this research we identify the strengths and weaknesses of various indicators of organizational culture in Taft Branch and ultimately underlie an important step toward improving organizational culture and consequently the quality of educational services.
