Proposing an Approach for Enhancing Organizational Agility Using Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment Technique - A Case Study

Abstract

Agility is perceived as the dominant competitive vehicle for all organizations in an uncertain and ever-changing business environment. Due to the existence of different working environments in different organizations, their strategic needs differ; therefore, in order to reach the high level of agility, they need to alignment their capabilities and Providers of agility with their environmental needs. This study is thus set to presents a new approach to agility improvement by making use of quality function development technique and implementing two houses of quality. To this end in the first phase, the main drivers of the enhancing organizational agility were identified. In the second and third phases of the study, the major capabilities and Providers to overcome agility driver were distinguished respectively. The present study has been conducted in one of the manufacturing departments and the findings suggest that IT and technology management play a more crucial role in improving organizational agility than other factors.
